ENGLISH COURSES ONLINE WITH A CERTIFICATE?
For a long time I shied away from introducing certificates for learning English on a Speakingo course. It’s probably no secret that various “irregularities” sometimes occur during online exams. Often it is not even known who took part in a particular exam or test.
On the other hand, after all, there is no problem to certify that someone is learning English. And, after all, a practical knowledge of speaking English – no matter what it might say on such an English certificate – an employer will probably test it in English at an interview anyway.

Therefore, in response to messages from Was, I am introducing the possibility of obtaining a certificate attesting to the fact that you are learning English on a Speakingo course. Well, indeed, if an online English course can come with a certificate, why not?
I issue certificates individually, so there is an opportunity to formulate the text of the certificate to fit your needs.

FREE ENGLISH CERTIFICATE FOR ONLINE COURSE
The English certificate for the Speakingo online course costs nothing, I issue it to my students completely free of charge.
There is only one catch here – only active learners can receive it.
What does this mean?
At the time of obtaining a certificate in English, the student must have paid for at least three months of study (can be during the three months).
Why as many as three and not one?
I don’t want people to pay a month’s tuition just to get a certificate in English. Instead, I want the Speakingo course certificates to mean something – and I believe that after three months of learning English, you can not only get a certificate in English, but also learn something practical!
HOW TO GET A FREE ONLINE ENGLISH CERTIFICATE STEP BY STEP?
So the issue is simple.
- You sign up for Speakingo’s online English course and start learning.
- You pay for the English lessons on the course.
- You write me an email at info @ speakingo . com (or through the form on the contact page), in which you write that you want to get your free English certificate and possibly what should be included in it. I verify the data, your progress and so on, after which, after a week at the latest, I send you back your certificate with English!
That’s it!
If I do not write back, it means that the email may have fallen into spam (it happens). Write boldly again then!
CAN I ISSUE AN ENGLISH CERTIFICATE FOR B2 LEVEL?
If, on the other hand, you need a certificate certifying your knowledge of English at a particular level, such as B2, that is also a possibility. You must then take a “placement test” on Speakingo.
Speakingo tests, on the other hand, are more for you to track your progress on the Speakingo course – they are not necessarily a perfect representation of the results you would get on other tests. And as I wrote, I wouldn’t expect an employer to blindly believe the information that you’re at B2 or C1 level, despite a nice certificate – rather, they’ll want to verify this in an interview in English. So if you don’t feel confident, I recommend choosing a certificate of attendance rather than some level on the CEFR scale (A1-C2).
WHAT GIVES ENGLISH SPEAKINGO ONLINE CERTIFICATE?
Speaking English is increasingly a necessity, not a luxury. On the other hand, online learning is becoming an everyday occurrence and more and more people are including online courses on their resumes. On the other hand, if we put something in there, we must be able to prove it somehow! That’s why it’s a good idea to choose a certified online English course.
Speakingo’s English certificate is just the confirmation that your English learning is not a drawn-out fairy tale, but you are actually working on yourself and developing. If the employer wishes to verify this and writes to me, I will confirm it (or not, if it turns out not to be true). But most likely, however, he will want to speak to you in English at the interview.
DOES THE SPEAKINGO ENGLISH CERTIFICATE ALLOW ME TO PASS A TERM IN COLLEGE?
If you need a certificate in English to present it to some formal organization, such as a university, then check what certificates they recognize. They usually only allow certificates issued by a handful of accredited institutions, and even if the King of England were to certify that you speak like a native English speaker, it would be of no use to you!
Therefore, if you need to confirm your English skills in some formal context, then check which exams or certificates the institution recognizes.
For example, when you apply for English citizenship in London, you must present a B2 certificate issued by one of the London schools1 . You can have a Nobel Prize in English literature and a professorship at Harvard – either way, you must then pass the B2 exam at one of the designated institutions and period.
TOO EARLY FOR AN ENGLISH CERTIFICATE? NOTHING LOST!
On the other hand, remember that we don’t learn English for a certificate after all! Learning English is not only pure pleasure, but also a better paying job, health for the brain, freedom to travel, the list of advantages is almost endless!
That’s why it doesn’t matter what level you’re at or what English certificate you want to get, it’s always worth training your English!
Of course, it’s best to take an online English course with a free certificate!
