Monty Python: absurdity that never gets old
For more than half a century, Monty Python has amused some people and shocked others. They made fun of religion and social rules, often in a completely absurd way. The Monty Python comedians were good observers of the world around them and of social behaviour, which they could act out in a caricatured, exaggerated form. They did it so skilfully, however, that they not only avoided a lynching, but even became such an icon of English culture that they appeared on a postage stamp.

Monty Python’s Flying Circus
The Monty Python team made several films, but their greatest popularity came from the comedy television series “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”. One legendary example is the Ministry of Silly Walks from one sketch – on Wikipedia you can even find detailed instructions for how to do them (in higher resolution than above).
