Se refiere a un <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/errores-mas-populares-al-aprender-ingles\/\">error popular <\/a>que cometen los <em>hablantes nativos,<\/em> es decir, confundir <em>good <\/em>con <em>well<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo, despu\u00e9s del examen de selectividad de ingl\u00e9s, podemos preguntarle a un compa\u00f1ero qu\u00e9 tal le ha ido con las palabras:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>So, how did you do on the exam?<\/em> (\u00bfBueno, y qu\u00e9 tal te fue en el examen?).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Si o\u00edmos como respuesta:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>I did good.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>significa que probablemente no le haya ido muy bien&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9?<\/p>\n<p>Porque acaba de confundir <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/adverbio-ingles-adverb\/\">el adverbio <\/a><em>(adverb) well<\/em> con <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/adjetivos-ingles\/\">el adjetivo<\/a><em> (adjetivo) good. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>De esta manera, no ha dicho \u00abme ha ido bien &#8211; hice buenamente\u00bb sino \u00abhice bueno &#8211; el bien\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>De ah\u00ed el texto humor\u00edstico del meme: \u00ab\u00bfAs\u00ed que hiciste bueno (el bien)? \u00a1Superman hace el bien, t\u00fa lo hiciste bien!\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Y ahora uno por uno.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo <em>good<\/em> y cu\u00e1ndo <em>well?<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>La regla general es que <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/adjetivos-ingles\/\">los adjetivos (<em>adjectives<\/em>)<\/a> como bonito (<em>nice),<\/em> verde (<em>green)<\/em> o bueno (<em>good)<\/em> describen cosas, es decir, modifican \u00abgramaticalmente\u00bb a <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/singular-plural-ingles\/\">los sustantivos (<em>nouns<\/em>)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Por lo tanto, diremos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>nice car<\/em> (bonito coche)<\/li>\n<li><em>green grass<\/em> (hierba verde)<\/li>\n<li><em>good boy<\/em> (buen chico)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sin embargo, si queremos describir una acci\u00f3n, es decir, c\u00f3mo &#8211; de qu\u00e9 manera se ha hecho algo, utilizamos <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/adverbio-ingles-adverb\/\">adverbios <em>(adverbs)<\/em><\/a> para modificar a <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/verbos-ingles\/\">los verbos <em>(verbs)<\/em><\/a>. A menudo, pero no siempre, los adverbios se forman a\u00f1adiendo la terminaci\u00f3n <em>-ly<\/em> a un adjetivo.<\/p>\n<p>Por ejemplo:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>he speaks nice<strong>ly <\/strong><\/em>(habla hermosamente)<\/li>\n<li><em>her eyes flashed <\/em><span class=\"shl\"><em>green<strong>ly<\/strong><\/em> (sus ojos parpadean en verde &#8211; literalmente \u00abverde\u00bb)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mientras que bueno (<em>good)<\/em> es irregular y su adverbio es la palabra <em>well,<\/em> y no \u00abgoodly\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Por lo tanto, diremos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>She kisses very well.<\/em> (Besa bien &#8211; buenamente).<\/li>\n<li><em>He has a well-paid job.<\/em> (Tiene un trabajo bien pagado).<\/li>\n<li><em>Your song has come out really well.<\/em> (Tu canci\u00f3n ha salido muy bien).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hasta aqu\u00ed la versi\u00f3n oficial de la historia.<\/p>\n<p>Ahora es el momento de hacer dos excepciones. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15837\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15837\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15837\" src=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/in-order-to-catch-the-fish-i-must-learn.jpg\" alt=\"in order to construcci\u00f3n\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/in-order-to-catch-the-fish-i-must-learn.jpg 640w, https:\/\/speakingo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/in-order-to-catch-the-fish-i-must-learn-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15837\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>\u00abPara pescar un pez, tengo que aprender a ser un pez\u00bb. <\/em>V\u00e9ase tambi\u00e9n:<a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/in-order-to-construccion-ingles-meme\/\"><em> Memes ingleses para que entiendas la construcci\u00f3n IN ORDER TO.<\/em><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>1. \u00bfC\u00f3mo est\u00e1s? <em>I&#8217;m<\/em> g<em>ood<\/em> o <em>I&#8217;m well?<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>Imagina que alguien nos pregunta:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>How are you?<\/em> (\u00bfC\u00f3mo est\u00e1s?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Vamos a responder:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>I&#8217;m good?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>I&#8217;m well?<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la respuesta correcta?<\/p>\n<p>Solemos utilizar <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/gradacion-adjetivos-ingleses\/\">un adjetivo <em>(adjective)<\/em><\/a> en situaciones similares, por ejemplo:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>I&#8217;m happy.<\/em> (Soy feliz.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Por lo tanto, se debe utilizar el adjetivo <em>good.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Y, efectivamente, podemos decir <em>I&#8217;m good.<\/em> S\u00f3lo as\u00ed podemos decir que nos sentimos bien emocionalmente, que todo nos va bien.<\/p>\n<p>Pero, \u00bfy si alguien nos pregunta por nuestra salud?<\/p>\n<p>Entonces responderemos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>I&#8217;m well.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lo que significa que estamos sanos, no enfermos.<\/p>\n<p>Ambas frases son correctas, s\u00f3lo que significan algo diferente.<\/p>\n<h3><em>Be good &amp; be well<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Por lo tanto, si nos despedimos de alguien:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Be good!<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Esto le previene contra un comportamiento poco \u00e9tico y consecuente.<\/p>\n<p>Si, por el contrario, decimos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Be well!<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eso simplemente significa que le deseamos buena salud a nuestro interlocutor.<\/p>\n<h2>2. <em>Good &amp; well <\/em> sensual<\/h2>\n<p>Una segunda excepci\u00f3n de utilizar <em>good &amp; well<\/em> seg\u00fan la regla general es cuando entran en juego los <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/verbs-of-senses-english\/\"><em>verbs of senses<\/em>, es decir, los verbos que describen nuestras percepciones sensoriales<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>to look (parecer),<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>to sound (sonar),<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>to smell (oler),<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>to feel (sentir),<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>to taste (saber),<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>En este caso, simplemente utilizaremos siempre un adjetivo <em>(good)<\/em> en lugar del adverbio (<em>well).<\/em> A ver, no siempre, pero m\u00e1s al respecto en <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/verbs-of-senses-english\/\">otra entrada.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Para nosotros, pr\u00e1cticamente esto significa en este momento que diremos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Your soup tastes good. <\/em>(Tu sopa sabe bien. No diremos <del><em>Your soup<\/em> <em> tastes well.<\/em><\/del>)<\/li>\n<li><em>This bed feels so good.<\/em> (Esta cama \u00abse siente tan bien\u00bb = es tan c\u00f3moda. No diremos: <em><del>This bed feels so well<\/del>.)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No lo diremos porque <em>well<\/em> cambiar\u00e1 el sentido de la frase. Estas diferencias s\u00f3lo adquieren importancia a un nivel muy avanzado cuando empezamos a jugar con las sutilezas del lenguaje: en la comunicaci\u00f3n normal todo el mundo entender\u00e1 lo que queremos decir.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a1Si es que hablamos!<\/p>\n<p>Por eso creo que, por muy interesante que sea, lo m\u00e1s importante no es estudiar sutilezas gramaticales, sino <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/curso-practico-de-ingles\/\">aprender a hablar ingl\u00e9s en la pr\u00e1ctica.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Qu\u00e9 importa que nos hayamos aprendido todas las reglas de memoria y hayamos le\u00eddo un mill\u00f3n de textos, si en el fragor de la conversaci\u00f3n seguimos utilizando calcos de la lengua espa\u00f1ola y cometemos errores en las construcciones m\u00e1s sencillas.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed que si quieres repasar tus conocimientos pr\u00e1cticos de ingl\u00e9s, te recomiendo <a href=\"https:\/\/speakingo.com\/es\/curso-de-ingles-online\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">el curso de ingl\u00e9s online de Speakingo.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All\u00ed se habla con frases completas y correctas que contienen toda la gram\u00e1tica y el vocabulario necesarios.
